The Jewish Foodies Cookbook, Traditional and Contemporary Recipes with a Southern Twist, is now available at All Things Arkansas.
This is the first cookbook produced by the Congregation House of Israel Sisterhood, Hot Springs Reform Jewis...h Temple Women’s organization. The cookbook includes approximately 450 delicious recipes from the present congregation membership, as well as recipes shared by friends and members now deceased. Reflecting traditions and customs from various regions of the country, the recipes are not only Jewish or kosher, but also non-kosher.
In addition to offering outstanding recipes, the book includes a brief history of the Hot Springs temple community, images of the beautiful stain glass windows inside the sanctuary and overviews of Jewish holidays, prayers, memorials and honorariums. Local artist Carole Katchen graciously offered her outstanding talent to the project by creating the cookbook cover.
